DESCRIPTION:

Cultural and Natural Restoration and research in different zones in the very known Manga del Mar Menor (important touristic pole). Ecological research in a beautiful sea landscape and wetland Calblanque Park. Prehistoric and Archaeological research in the Cueva Victoria, near the park an ancient site. Coastwach site. And different research activities around the wetland. There are a lot of activities like: seaguards, information in the Interpretation Center, Information to tourist, social research, and so on.

SPECIES: Seabirds, raptors, marine mammals, endemic species.

HABITAT: Wetland, sea and Mediterranean forest.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

We don’t ask special qualifications, all volunteers are welcome, but we only need their impulse and motivation in order to work for the conservation of the nature, we include special courses and training in some activities.

VOLUNTEERS WORK: There are a lot activities like: take notes, clean caverns, take video shots, observation of submarine zones, plant, information to visitant of the park, environmental education with children, sea watchers and vigilant, training, hard research, and so on.

LANGUAGE: It’s an international project in a tourist pole, any language is very good, you include can learn Spanish with our teachers.

ACCOMMODATION:

Three kind of accommodation: 1) Hyatt Hotel (we have volunteers with very good economics possibilities and golf fun), 2) tents in First Tourist Camping (near the park, a good solution for young people), 3)tents in the Park (the hard condition, the best if you love the nature).

COST:

COST WITHOUT FOREIGN TRANSPORTATION BY ACCOMMODATION (15 DAYS): (include transportation from the airport to the accommodation, activities and a life safe).

- 4) Without accommodation: 310$ (US Dollars) (45.000 pesetas)

- 3) Tents in the Park (without diets or meal): 482$(US Dollars) each one. Your own tent and sleeping bags require). 70.000 pesetas

- 2) Tents in a First Class Camping (without diets or meal, but shower, batrooms, fresh water, and other facilities): 724$ (US Dollars). Your own tent and sleeping bags required. 105.000pesetas

- 1) Hyatt Hotel: If you are thinking in this accommodation don’t mind the money. Ask us. We can make possible your registration and acommodation without additional charge, you only pay to us the first option: (45.000 pesetas).

LONG TERM : The volunteers can work in this project for a maximum of 3 months and a minimum of 15 days. We are going to have this project until 2.003

Two months cost (condition 4):125.000 pesetas

You can obtain information in different country’s and groups, but our list of volunteers is in Spain. You must contact directly with us, and subscribe a reserve form. You can find brochures of our region or this zone in any International Travel Agency, ask for brochures about Heat Coast (Costa Calida) or Hyatt Hotel in Murcia. The course golf cross the park...so...

APPLICATION: To participate you must complete a reserve form application. Deadline: 10-July-2000. You must make the reserve now if you want camp out the park or a room in Hyatt. In summer, it´s impossible to find a place here. You can achieve the form downloading from here download a rtf form and printing. Or by hard mail or by e-mail.
