Spain's last African colony where after centuries its inhabitants are still striving for independence. On the 22nd of November 1964 the MPAIAC (MOVEMENT FOR THE SELF-DETERMINATION AND INDEPENDENCE OF THE CANARIAN ARCHIPELAGO), first Movement for the Independence in the islands, was founded by the lawyer Mr. Antonio Cubillo during his exile in Algiers, where he was forced to live by the Spanish fascist authorities. It was during this period of exile that the situation of the Canary Islands came into the public eye of International rights and the Islands became an International concern, this status was clarified in the year 1964, during an important meeting with the African Heads of State and the African Movement of Freedom Fighters, approved by the OAU (Organisation of African Unity) which took place on the 20th . July 1968 to Algiers, it was established and recognised that the Canary Islands form an integral part of the African Continent. This was a solemn declaration which erupted all borders of Spanish Colonialism and put the Canary Islands forth to the UNITED NATIONS and reached International spheres, where from this point in time the relationships of International Rights for the Canary Islands would be closely looked into. The African Liberation Committee of the OAU have supported the struggle of the MPAIAC for many years now. This movement attended the many meetings between 1964 & 1991. The MPAIAC began its activities in the Canary Islands in November 1976 against the Spanish occupying forces. The Spanish oppressions of the nationalist Movements of the Canary Islands was so strong that they murdered three members of the Nationalist Party and attempted against the life of its President, leaving him with the most brutal injuries, this act of repression from the Spanish Government outraged the Canarian people and caused them to manifest in large demonstrations all over the streets of Tenerife , this took place in the year 1977. Many Nationalists were put in prison where they were brutally tortured by the Spanish Colonialist Authorities. The CNC came into being in the year 1985, when Mr. Cubillo arrive to Canary Islands of his exile in Algiers.
It was during his forced exile in Algiers in 22-10-64, that the President created the present Canary Island Flag which consists of three colours in vertical bands, from left to right, white, sky blue and yellow with seven green stars forming a circle in the central sky blue band.
1. The CNC is a Political Party striving for Independence and committed to obtaining the rights for the Canarian People to become Self Governed where they can enjoy living in a democracy, with liberty, equality and respect for human rights for all citizens of the Canary Islands.
2. The CNC is committed to oust corruption and foreign Mafia's from its shores and opposed to the ZEC (Canarian Economical Zone) organised by the Autonomous Government to launder black money.
3. The CNC incorporate democratic policies to force the Spanish Government to respect the UN Charter and The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Peoples, with emphasis on the UN Resolution 1514 in 1960 about the RIGHT TO SELF DETERMINATION which all colonised people have, and which is the case of the Canary Islands-Res. 1514 (XV) of 15/12/1960, which clearly specifies the following points 1 &2;
1) "That the people who are subjected to the domination and exploitation by a foreign power constitutes the negation of the basic rights of man, is against the UN Charter and compromises the cause of peace and world co-operation".
2) "All people have the right to control their own destiny, in virtue of this right they may freely carry out their economic, social and cultural development".
4. The CNC reject all the Autonomous Statutes which have been passed by the Parliament in Madrid, which have only served as an instrument to destroy our National, economical, social and cultural identity and compromise the future of our children.
5. The CNC totally abhor all forms of colonialism of the Canarian People and wish to abolish it. This means that all Canarians must unite in their National struggle to free the Canary Islands of colonialism.
6. The CNC are committed to release the Canary Islands from the European Union, where they are considered to be an Ultraperipherial area. The CNC want the Canary Island to be categorised as a THIRD STATE with the same relationship as that of Israel, Morocco and Tunisia.
7. The CNC are striving for an Independent State with a seat in the U.N. Due to its geographical position the Republic of the Canary Islands must be a neutral and non alligned state, a necessity to assure the islands economical future which is based on free trade and tourism. The Spanish Government have plans to militarise our Archipelago by installing missile launching areas etc., the Canary Islands have been forced into NATO against their own free will. The CNC recognise the dangers of militarism of the Canary Islands and what this could do to local and foreign investments, as well as the atmospheric consequences of the same, and including the threat of our existence due to other nations pointing their missiles at our islands due to the occupancy of NATO on our shores.
8. The CNC being an Independent Party, want to convert the present Canarian Colony into an Independent country, into a progressive, democratic, pacifist Republic. Yet the Spanish Colonial Government and the so-called Autonomous marionette Government who complies with its orders, want to convert these African islands that live off tourism and commerce, into military bases of aggression against the poor African countries, with this menace they are endangering the survival and future of our pacific people and our business and tourism sectors.
9. At this moment in time, the autonomous agreement formed by a pact between the Spanish governing parties of PP and Canarian Coalition, are squandering the public money they control, to favour their own private interests and that of their friends and associates. All of this is transforming the Canary Islands into a Republican banana field of the worst species. The corruption reigns in every sector and this is the reason why WE THE CNC PARTY DENOUNCE THIS DEGRADING SITUATION WHICH IS RUINING OUR WEALTH ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS.
10. The foreign tourists and those whose wish to take up their residence here and work should visit the marginal areas of the towns and villages and see for themselves how our indigenous people live, and compare this with the residential tourist areas of the Spanish and their Canarian infiltrators.
11. The continual administrative corruption that has risen under the shadow of colonialism in the Canary Islands, is doing away with all the honest businesses of the islands. Its for this precise reason we do not recommend to ANYONE that they come here and take up residence or install their business either, whilst the present situation of corruption continues to reek the islands.
12. Any type of information of whatever kind that is obtained about the Canary Islands be it in foreign offices controlled by Spain or by the present Canarian marionette government, has not to be trusted and is adulterated, for this precise reason we advise all foreign political, administrative and cultural entities to take an interest in this colonial territory.
13. At this current moment the Spanish Colonial Government are converting these islands into a place where International congresses of whatever kind can be celebrated. With this they only hope to shield the fact that the Canary Islands are no more than a vulgar colony of Spain, and therefore influence International public opinion with this front. We sincerely hope that the foreign governments and institutions of these countries do not participate in this International manoeuvre.
14. The CNC Party and the Canarian State of People await International help, to help us to unmask the agents and infiltrators of colonialism. In the European Parliament for example, there are many Canarian infiltrators who defend the Spanish Government and its colonialism, they should be unmasked for this by the European Parliamentarians. The Electoral system prevailing today in the Canary Islands is Anti-Democratic because they permit a non-Canarian population to participate in the elections, that is to say, Spanish residents and even Europeans of the European Commonwealth can vote in the local elections, fabricated in this manner to leave the Guanche people in minority and in an extremely disadvantaged position. This system reeks of Colonial domination over the Canarian Peoples hearsay. During the elections, the Independent Political Parties are only allowed four and a half minutes viewing time to appear on T.V., this decision is enforced by the Colonial Government, who dominate not only the television but the airwave sectors also, their political parties are allowed to canvas on the media throughout the elections.
15. At this precise moment the Environmental and Tribunal Conciergerie of the Canarian Parliament have granted permission to the Spanish Army to build and enlarge their military installations in the Las Peñas del Chache and Risco de Famara in the island of Lanzarote. This seriously endangers the flora and tourism industries of these places. The Flora and plants are of great importance as they are of an endemic species unique in the world. The same thing will happen with the island of El Hierro due to the manoeuvre of installations for the launching of satellites. This project has provoked a public outcry and caused the inhabitants of the island to break out in protest. All of this proves the ignorant behaviour of the present autonomous government who in turn serve the militaristic interests of the colonial government without any consideration for the Canarian people and their views.
16. The CNC Party are promoting the creation of a National federation of Football to allow the Canary Islands to participate in the International Tournaments with their own team, in the same way as Scotland, Wales, Andorra, Morocco, Malta, as well as other Nationalities such as Cataluña and Euskaleria do. The Spanish Government block this and other creative projects as always.
17. Due to our geographical position, the Canary Islands have been converted into a platform for the arrival and distribution of drugs precedent from all of South America. According to a report from the Tribunal Law Office, the police force currently capture between a ton and half to two tons of drugs, which represents 10% of the total amount of drugs distributed in the Canary Islands.
18. Actually, in Canary Is., the Autonomous Canarian Goverment, supported by the colonial Spanish goverment is using all means at its disposal to convince the EEC to grant an economic status ZEC ( Special Canarian Economic Zone ) to the Canarian Islands. If this authorization is given, then the islands will be used to avoid the laws passed by the European Parliament to ensure a free economic market. What will also happen, is that banking institutions specialising in the laundering of black money will set up in the Archipelago. They will then launder all the black money in the Canarian Islands and that which arrives everyday from Europe. Various Maffia groups from around the world, as well as companies producing low quality goods and services will come to the islands and abuse advantages of the ZEC system to flood the EEC with low quality goods and services.
