	Andrew's comment: Dudley is located just outside Birmingham, so it combines the pace of a small city with the advantages of a large one. When I last saw the school, it catered mostly to younger adults. As it is closely associated with a college, it would be ideal for this age group. Tony Tysoe - the school's director - speaks Spanish (and a little Catalan) since he lived in Catalonia for some time.

	The Center for English Language and Orientation Programs (CELOP) is an integral part of Boston University. The Center offers specially designed intensive English language programs for international students who wish to improve their English proficiency. The majority of these students are preparing for study in an American university or pursuing business activities.

	SESLI is designed for students who have good basic English but need additional practice in order to reach the proficiency level necessary to pursue international careers or do course work in colleges and universities in the United States. The city of Superior is located at the northwest corner of the state of Wisconsin and has a population of 27,000 residents.

	YUELI at York University

It is located at a modern college with the possibility of on-campus accommodation from May until the end of August.
	Andrew's comment: I spent time talking to YUELI's Manager of Professional Programs, Michael Twohey, Ph. D. and watched some student presentations that were given in the Pre-MBA language course. The Pre-MBA is designed primarily for students who have been accepted at York's renowned Schulich School of Business or for those who are interested in pursuing an MBA at other North American business schools. YUELI's Professional Programs seem suitable for students who already have an intermediate to advanced level of English and wish to improve their commercial language skills while making contact with business people from different countries.

	Mohawk College in Hamilton

	Andrew's comment: Mohawk College is placed in Hamilton, a mid-sized city about one hour's drive from Toronto and Niagara Falls. It specialises in continuous education so you might be sharing your class with both visitors and immigrants to Canada.

They offer their English for Life courses to people of all nationalities.
	Andrew's comment: I visited this school during 2002, saw the classrooms, talked to some students and to LCI's Assistant Manager, Ms Barbara Thompson. I also met their President, Mr Eugene Emerson , who told me most in-class emphasis is on oral communication. LCI have committed themselves to granting English for Business students a discount on their standard fees, so you can ask for it if you apply.

	St. George in Toronto

	Andrew's comment: Their Marketing Director, Daniel Yoon, explained that the school receives mostly students from Asiatic countries who are interested in improving both their language and business skills. Their courses cover all levels and are organised in small groups. St George College have committed themselves to granting English for Business students a discount on their standard fees, so you can ask for it if you apply.

These are suited to intensive study over a short period of time or for people who need English for Special Purposes.

	Actilingua German School in Vienna

	Andrew's comment: There were just a few students when I visited the school in early 2002, so it does seem appropriate for people who want to improve their German in a quiet environment and combine their studies with sightseeing in the elegant city of Vienna.
