Diccionario de Economia y Empresa

This dictionary originated from the Internet-based Business English / Spanish Glossary  by A. D. Miles. The revised "Diccionario de Economía y Empresa" incorporates thousands of new definitions and has been updated with the latest terminology.

Personal note: I am the writer of this bilingual dictionary. It includes vocabulary taken from leading business publications and corporate documentation - as well as words extracted from the suggestions box at my glossary's webpage. It also comprises regional expressions, which were approved after consultation with  collaborators from Argentina, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, Spain, UK, USA and Venezuela.

An excellent American English dictionary that comes along with a CD-ROM and lists over 200,000 words explained in a simple to understand, language.  My top choice.

Personal note: I bought the CD-ROM version in 1998. Now it's the dictionary I use the most, as it sits inside my computer and is therefore very easy to access.

One of the best general English dictionaries. Thorough and reliable, it is an ideal reference book for anyone involved with English.

Personal note: When I'm looking for etymology or obscure seconday meanings I head for the Oxford. 

Very complete English-Spanish dictionary with around 200,000 definitions. Though rather outdated - the last edition was in '86 - it still is an excellent reference book for any office. 

Personal note: I first bought this dictionary in 1978 and was attracted by the no-fuss way it dealt with both Spain's and Latin America's Spanish. It was my favourite bilingual dictionary till I purchased the Oxford Spanish 20 years later.

Clearly annotated English-Spanish dictionary with useful comments and over 275,000 entries, including American English and Latin American Spanish. My most recommended bilingual dictionary.

Personal note: My favourite, with scholarly but concise definitions and translations. I generally  find the word I'm looking for.

Interesting dictionary that holds over 2500 difficult-to-find financial expressions and their explanations.

Personal note: Often,  knowing the term is not enough. This  financial terminology glossary allows me to comprehend the intrinsec meaning of even arcane investment terms.

Legal English dictionary with over 30,000 easy-to- understand definitions. A must for anyone dealing with English law. 

Personal note: Legal jargon is sometimes uncomprehensible so Black's Law Dictionary helps me out with expressions that other books do not cover in depth.
